Man-Gyu Hwang had over twenty five years semiconductor EDA and TCAD software industry experience, the company that has been served since 1994 as of president of Silvaco Korea Co., Ltd in the field of semiconductor software marketing and sales.

With his experienced and management, Silvaco Korea Co., Ltd has become number one leading providers of flat panel display software solution in Korea and also other novel semiconductor technologies as well. He holds a BS. Master of Business Administration in University of Hanyang.

Babak Taheri
Smart Solutions from Atoms to Systems Babak Taheri
CEO, Silvaco, Inc.
Babak Taheri is the CEO at Silvaco Inc., a leading provider of TCAD, EDA, and design IP software. He began his career at Silvaco as chief technical officer and executive vice-president of products. Previously, he was the CEO / president of IBT working with investors, private equity firms, and startups on M&A, technology, and business diligence.

While at IBT, he served on advisory boards of MEMS World Summit, Novasentis, AGCM, ALEA labs, Lion Point Capital, and Silver Lake. Prior to IBT, he was the VP & GM of the sensor solutions division at Freescale semiconductor (now NXP).

Babak was the recipient of ”the perfect project award” in 2003 while at Cypress; Twice recipient of the “Diamond Chip Award” in 2013 /14 while at Freescale; recipient of the MEMS & Sensors executive of the year award in 2014, and in 2015 was the recipient of the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Medal from UC. Davis College of Engineering, where he is on the advisory board to the college.

He also held VP/GM roles at Cypress Semiconductors, Invensense (now TDK) and key roles at SRI International and Apple. He received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UC Davis with majors in EECS and Neurosciences, has over 20 published articles and holds 28 issued patents.

Jungik Lee

Jeong-Ik Lee joined ETRI in 1999 and continued his research on OLED materials and devices. He has led the Reality Devices Research Division of ETRI since 2017 and has worked on the convergence of display and sensor technologies.

He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. Chemistry degrees from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea in 1992, 1994, and 1997, respectively. After graduating, he joined IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, CA, USA as a postdoctoral associate, and worked on OLED materials.

Keechan Park

From 2007 onwards, KeeChan Park has been an Professor at Konkuk University. His research areas include the design of display panel, circuit integration using TFTs. He published forty seven journal papers and patented about eighty inventions. He worked as a senior engineer for Samsung Electronics from 2003 to 2007.

KeeChan Park received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2003 from Seoul National University, Korea.

Senior Variability Corporate Application Engineer, Silvaco France
Jean-Baptiste Duluc is the core-competency application engineer in charge of VarMan product development at Silvaco. He joined Silvaco in 1999 as support engineer for the characterization and modeling software Utmost. Then, at the research center, He leads projects in the new generation of characterization and modeling application, Utmost IV, and statistical model generation tool, Spayn. His PhD work was focused on process variation impacts on figure of merits of integrated circuits.

Jean-Baptiste holds a PhD in microelectronics from the University of Bordeaux, France.

Namkyun Tak

TCAD Senior Application Engineer, Silvaco Korea
Nam-Kyun Tak is a TCAD senior application engineer at Silvaco. Since joining Silvaco in 2010, he has worked on TFT technology development. Prior to joining Silvaco, he worked for 6 years in Samsung Electronics, where he was involved in DRAM development.

Nam-Kyun Tak received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Korea.

Jiwoong Han

Spice Modeling & EDA Application Engineer, Silvaco Korea
Ji-Woong Han is a EDA application engineer at Silvaco. Since joining Silvaco in 2014, he has worked on circuit simulation, device modeling, parasitic reduction, netlist compare and analysis.

He received M.S. degrees in information display from Advanced Display Research Center, Kyunghee University, Seoul, Korea.

Thomas Blaesi

Thomas F. Blaesi is Vice President of the global marketing group, which is chartered with defining, driving, and promoting Silvaco’s leadership in the TCAD, EDA and IP market. Key areas of responsibility include strategic planning, corporate marketing, product marketing, market research, brand management, corporate communications, and ecosystem alliance programs.

Thomas joined Silvaco in October 2017 with more than 25 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development, and marketing in semiconductor, and electronic design automation industries. He has led major projects in SoC platform-based design, system-level design, and design for manufacturing in addition to hands-on experience in custom and semi-custom chip design and development.

Most recently, Thomas was the managing partner at Zeema Technologies. Before that, he served as CEO of Chipvision, and held various senior business and technical positions at Cadence, Synopsys, and LSI Logic.

Thomas holds a BS in electrical engineering and computer science from Hochschule Furtwangen University, Germany.

Stephen Fairbanks
How Custom I/O Can Benefit You Stephen Fairbanks
Chief Technology Officer, Certus Semiconductor
In the semiconductor industry, he has been developing custom I/O and ESD libraries for 20 years. Most notable were his efforts at Intel Corporation where he was the lead developer of the ESD and I/O libraries for what was then Intel's wireless, cellular and mobile computing groups. He lead the development of IO and ESD used on the initial and many subsequent generations of the wireless components (MAC basebands and RF Front Ends) for the Intel Centrino chipsets. He left Intel in 2006 to work as an ESD Ci=onsulting, eventually founding Certus Semiconductor in 2009. At Certus Semiconductor, he has lead the development of ESD process design rules, ESD libraries, and IO libraries in Logic, RF and Mixed-signal processes in every node from 0.25um, down to 7nm. He has developed IO's and supported ESD solutions for every major semiconductor company including Intel, Samsung, Qualcomm, Cisco, NXP (and Freescale), Texas Instruments, Cadence, Mentor, and many others. Stephen is also familiar with several specialty processes, including HV BiCMOS, Flash memory, SiGe, SOI, FD-SOI, SOS and InP.

Apart from ESD and IO design, he has a done significant work in system design, including compliance testing to standards such as CE, UL and other international standards.
